Someone out there is trying to keep Ed Scanlan under wraps. Why would Ed be encouraged to participate in the Union League Club of Chicago's Democratic gubernatorial candidate forum next Wednesday and then mysteriously find himself disqualified from the same event just 2 days later (see images below)?

Good question. And so far, no one at the Club has the answer. Could it be that someone from either the Hynes or Quinn camps has a problem with that?

It's particularly baffling given that the same Club extended an open invitation to all names on the ballot, without any qualifying criteria, for their October 21st forum featuring the Republican gubernatorial candidates. Why different rules for different parties? We're not the only ones who are mystified. Check out the Sun-Times and Huffington Post links to their stories on the subject.
