Welcome to the Scanlan for Gov website!

We will be updating this site frequently with issue papers, breaking news, video footage and photos. We are in the first inning of what will be a long game and I hope you will check back often as we add content to this site. I also hope you will use the site to keep in touch with me. I am new to the political world and look forward to engaging in a conversation about the future of our state. My connection is not to the politically connected in this state; rather, it is to you, the people. I hope you’ll give me your ideas and feedback as we move forward.

I don’t need to tell you that times are tough. The global economic challenges are hitting us right here at home in Illinois. Especially in times like these, we can’t afford a government that isn’t working for us. That I have never been a government employee might cause some to question my experience. On the contrary, I think Illinois needs an independent leader with a compass pointing in the right direction to get us back on track. As governor, I will be guided by the same principles that I’ve held dear throughout my career as an attorney –serving my clients, working hard, and focusing on results.

Let’s start this journey to work to put our state back together and to building a brighter future for our kids and grandkids.
